FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.......
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES
Rates are project based. They depend on how many photos you want, how the images will be used, the level of retouching, and what goes into making your project a success. Please contact me for a quote!
WHAT IS COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Commercial photography involves the taking of photographs for commercial uses (product shots, headshots, etc). These photographs are often used for the promotional marketing of a business including website placement, product previews, and business card/marketing material images. You will need a contract between your company and the photography business for a commercial usage license.
WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS
I like to start with a creative call to discuss your vision. We settle on a location, date, and shot list and then I send over a quote. A 40% deposit is required to hold your shoot date. When the shoot is complete, you receive a link to view and select your images. Once you send your order, the remaining balance is paid.
WHAT IS RETOUCHING| DO I NEED IT
Retouching is any alteration to the original photograph. This Includes light and color retouching as well as body reshaping, skin airbrushing, and so much more. I always include my basic retouch package to alter color and lighting. You might not need additional retouching but all images need basic retouching.
WHAT IS NON-COMMERCIAL
Non-commercial photography is for personal use by a private individual. These shoots are typically to document key life milestones such as a family portrait session or graduation shoot - not for high-traffic viewing.
WHAT IS A COMMERCIAL LICENSE
A license is a legal agreement between the photography business and the client which gives the client the legal rights to use the images. A commercial license allows the client to use the images commercially to promote their business. Licenses can be for print usage, web usage, or both. A license also prevents others from using the image.
DO I OWN COPYRIGHT
No, you don't own the copyright... but Yes! You can purchase it. Most of the time there is no need for you to own the copyright of your images. The license protects your right to use the photos. A copyright is usually only needed when you intend to sell the image. I don't normally include the copyright in my quotes because it can get very pricey.
CAN I ORDER PRINTS OF MY PHOTOS
Yes! I offer standard and archival printing and framing. Archival means your prints are museum quality and will last forever without fading. Prices vary and all sizing is avallable!
